Hi,
Is it possibel that you can convert a pc his hard drive to a vmdk and run it as a virtual pc in VMWare ESXi?
Thanks in advance
You can use a tool like VMware Converter - http://www.vmware.com/products/converter/ - which is free. I also use MOA from sanbarrow.com which creates a good cold clone tool.
So the whole hard drive of that pc I can convert with VMWare converter to a vmdk? Nice!
Dear Friend
Use this document, i believe it help u to convert the Running Virtual machine (Live Conversion) and just for one reboot.
If you have a vCenter Converter, the base is the same, but you must know that you must install the vCenter Converter on the vCenter Server.
This is the document: http://communities.vmware.com/docs/DOC-14184
If it is useful, would u please mark it as "Helpful" or "Correct"?
Thank u
saman
yes vmware converter is the way to go. but make sure that the license is non OEM as you will violate of moving the license into virtual mode.
Dear Friend, if u need more information, please response, i'm glad to hearing u.
At this moment I know enough.
