Coredump to disk

Hi ,

I have recently installed esxi 5.0 on i3 system which is having good storage and good RAM.

Today i received the pink dump to esxi and all VM's are inaccessible due to to this.

Last line of pink dump is :

coredump to disk.Slot 1 of 1diskdump:FAILED:couldn't dump header 0xbad0001

Please help to resolve this.....

Hi vaibhavlohar1985,

The diagnostic screen indicates you are experiencing a known issue (VMware KB2059053) which can be resolved by patching the host or changing the virtual NIC on your VMs from e1000 to vmxnet3.  The 0xbad0001 (195887105) is a just VMK_FAILURE related to your coredump configuration.  You can correct that by reviewing VMware KB2012362.

I have replaced the HDD & LAN card ...Reinstalled Esxi again..

Will problem resolved ??

fyi - none of the things you mentioned were required in this particular scenario (replacing NIC, HDD, etc).  Although that is good troubleshooting when trying to rule out hardware issues, in this case, it's a known software issue, so please review the KB about the e1000.
