ESXi 4.1 change path selection on datastores

ESXi 4.1, I have a couple of datastores that were not set up correctly. The path selection is set to fixed, while other datastores have round robin  + storage IO control. I am looking for the least risky/disruptive way of changing the configuration for these datastores. There are 15 ESX hosts.

When changing the datastore configuration ,is there any pre requisites e.g move VMs to another datastore, shut down VMs etc. Is there any disruption to the ESX hosts?

Hi

Changing paths is not disruptive and can be done online, as long as the storage supports it and the SAN is healthy.

From you post it looks like some are on Round Robin and I presume this is on the same storage array.

You can do this by running a PowerCli script to change path selection: attached

I do not have the scrip to enable SOIC
