Hi Guys,
I have two Esxi host, one running 5.1 the other running 5.0 both R710 but the CPU models are different.
and Unfortunately the one that is running 5.0 the CPU does not support AES-NI feature set and due to this I can't do vMotion to shift my vms to another host.
I thought vmware can support different hardware in terms of vmotion or have I seen wrong on youtube?
or is there any other way around of this problem?
Regards,
PS:
This is what Dell Techy wrote to me:
"I have do some research and found that the processor which is in your server (E5530) is not support for the AES function.
Only 56xx series of processor is supported for the AES function."
Create a cluster if you didnt do already. Add both ESXi servers to it and enable EVC.
Thanks for the quick reply,
I have a slight problem,
1 x R710 with nehalm CPU E5530
1 x R710 with westmere CPU E5620
How would u enable EVC for both u can only do one or the other feature set.
