Hi
Following this thread: http://communities.vmware.com/message/1993369#1993369
After 1h30 the host from which the HBA rescan had been issued, became disconnected from Vcenter.
I tried to restart the agent from the console, but it hanged.
I happened to have an esx session opened, so I stopped the agents and restarted, but it hanged for 1/2h starting 'usbsarbitrator'. I exited.
Looks like I need to reboot the server, but I have a feeling that all the VM running (OK at the moment) on it will be turned off and restarted automatically via DRS at the best or not at all if for some reason DRS does not its job (because of the host issue).
To make matter worse, vcenter is running on this host at the moment.
Is there a way to 'reconnect' the host to vcenter that way I can vmotion all the VM on it before rebooting the host?
Thanks in advance
Is you are using ESXi version connect the host using putty and execute the below command
/sbin/services.sh restart

This is what I ran before and it got stuck on usbarbitror
Sorry. posted to quickly!
I re-ran it a second time and this time it restarted
Thanks
I spoke to early.
On the second host with the same problem, the command is stuck here (same as the other host before):
Running vpxa restart
[647114] Begin '/usr/lib/vmware/vpxa/bin/vpxa ++min=0,swap,group=vpxa -D /etc/vmware/vpxa', min-uptime = 60, max-quick-failures = 1, max-total-failures = 1000000, bg_pid_file = ''
Running usbarbitrator restart
I stopped it after 15 minutes and restarted it and it is still stuck there. It has been running for the past hour now.
Not sure what to do
