Is software MMU obsolete and hwMMU is must?

Hi forum, Now that VMware has decided to phase out VMI does that mean software MMU is obsolete as well and going forward hwMMU is an absolute requirement?

No; the software MMU is still fully supported on all platforms and for all guests. FT configurations require the software MMU.
