One of the HBA cannot see all the targets

Hi All,

We have ESXi 6.X ESXi hosts , connected with FC storage.

In one of the host , one HBA cannot see all the Targets. Ex..we have vmhba1 and vmhba2 , vmhba1 can see all the targets 12, but vmhba2 can see only 10 targets. because of that, some LUN's have only 2 paths. checked with storage team they did not see any issues from. HBA ports also online in storage switch.

How to check which target the affected hba cannot see ?? Is there any command ??

Thank you..!!

If you have two HBAs, one HBA can see 12 disk devices (targets) and the other can only see 10, then you have a zoning issue going on. The only way to know which ones it can't see is to compare the list of devices you see under Storage -> Devices. You could, of course, script that, but it would still be a comparison.

search for targets in the output of below command.

For the second HBA you should find less targets compared to that of the 1st HBA.

get the zoning right as mentioned earlier

/usr/lib/vmware/vmkmgmt_keyval/vmkmgmt_keyval -a | less
