Problem with a esxi5 server

Hello,

we have a esx5i-server with a supermicro-board and a adaptec raid-Controller and 48 GB Ram. On the machine run 8 vms. From time to time (may be days, other time weeks,, other time hours) the Server hangs and all the vms too. We changed all Hardware - the same Problem. I upated the esx - same Problem. The only Thing of helping is to hardware-reset the Server.

Any suggestions? Nothing to see in Protokolls?

Thanks, Klaus

There are logs in /var/log you could look through for clues.

You could try updating ESX with latest patches.

When the server hangs do you get a purple screen or it just stops responding?

Hello,

in the logs is nothing to see, what shows the Problem. It is no purple Screen, only stopping responding. After the hard reboot a warning is in the Client (Status of another host changed) - Thats all!

Hello,

today the Problem is again. I had to do a hard reset at 7.15. In vsphere-Client i see a "Status of other Hardware -object...). On the Maschine runs a vcenter-Appliance as virtuell machine to manage the host. May be thats a Problem??

I have a look to the logs:

NRMFSADebug.log:

vmkernel.log

I attached this two logs. What are the important logs, where you can find more Information?

Thanks a lot.

Bye, Klaus
