Reduce size of Thick provisioning VM

Any way to reduce size of thick provisioning VM in ESXI 6 ?

I have tried but not possible to reduce size of the HDD

Please use vCenter convertor to achieve this as you won;t be able to reduce size of VMDK as it is.

but if you want to let the provisioned size of VMDK as it is, just want it to be Thin Provisioned rather than Thick than yes you have a solution called Storage migration of your VMDK from it;s existing datastore to different datastore, while doing this you can chose to change Provisioning policy of VirtualDisk.

I need to use VCenter Converter convert the current VM and then resize back the size of HDD right ?

basically, vCenter Converter is a tool which will help you to do V2V migration.

during this migration itself, you can chose target virtual disk size, which could be less than the source disk.
