VMCI Device

Hello,

in the Virtual Machines Settings there is a choice called VMCI Device, i read about it and i understand that its a communication method between virtual machines in the same host.

my question is that do you think that using VMCI is best practice our you Preferred not to use it?

Hello and welcome to the communities.

Best practice would be to not use it unless you have a specific use-case for it.

Good Luck!

Unless, you have an API which is written in VMCI SDK, and can communicate thro' the VMCI driver, you might not end up using it at all

It is a high performance interface between VM's ( i think between 4-10gb intercommunication), which utilises sockets rather than TCP/IP. As said you would need specific software written for it to be of any use.
