bind nfs to a vmk

Is there a way to bind NFS storage to a specific vmk in esxi?

Hi,

no there is no command.

The ESXi host will connect with the first VMkernel Port that has direct access to the share.

So if you want to make sure it uses a specific VMkernel Port, you have to seperate it form other VMkernel Ports. By putting it in a different subnet, use a VLAN or a physical switch so the ESXi host only has one possible route to the NFS share.

Here's something nice to read about this problem: Challenges with Multiple VMkernel Ports in the Same Subnet | VMware Support Insider - VMware Blogs

This is now possible with ESXi 8.0

yes, you'll need vSphere 8.0 Update 1 which is where VMkernel NIC binding and mConnect features were added https://williamlam.com/2023/03/nfs-multi-connections-in-vsphere-8-0-update-1.html
