esxi v8u2 (w/o vcenter) sshd configuration changes

I am trying to enable the ssh-ed25519 algorithm for keys by adding the following line in /etc/ssh/sshd_config:

PubkeyAcceptedKeyTypes=+ssh-ed25519

After restarting the service, it works, but changes to this file are not persisted across reboots.

Is there a solution to this problem?
