Hi
i wonder if i connected my usb drive directly to the host server that runs the ESXi can i read from it with the datastore
browser ? and upload files to it ?
Regards
use WinSCP for copying files
Hi
what is WinSCP is it a tool a command ? and from where to use it from the client that i run cSphere Client on or from the physical host ?
Is not possible mount a usb storage as a datastore.
You can use vSphere client and datastore browser (right click on datastore).
Or enable SSH and use WinSCP (winscp.net) to download the files.
Andre
Ammer,
Use WinSCP or FastSCP to copy files.
you can install these on any windows host, then attach your USB drive to the Windows host.
From the tool you then create a connection to your ESX host and browse to /vmfs/volumes/<datastorename>
you can then copy and paste, pretty much in the same way that you would with Windows explorer.
Good luck.
