iscsi iniator drive in smart copy (auto snapshot manager/vmware edition) Equallogic SAN

Equallogic SAN, firmware 5.0.2

ESXi 4.1

I'm wanting to start using the features of the Auto Snapshot Manager/VMware edition from Dell but wasn't 100% sure how it handles ms iscsi attached drives.  For example if I clone or snapshot a VM I have the option to check "Include PS Series volumes accessed by guest iSCSI initiators (only powered on VMs).  Since there are actually 2 different version of the Auto Snapshot Manager, VMware edition and Microsoft Edition, is the VMware still file system aware when it includes the ms initiator attached drive?

The snapshot is from a VMFS volume, so you can only read it from a host.

I'm not sure I follow.

You can snap the ms iscsi attached volume that a VM is attached to as well.

The ASM for VMware handle ONLY the VMFS volumes.

To handle the guest iSCSI volume, you must install ASM inside the guest.
