Is there a way to disable the local mode download option? In our environment the view client isn't distributed through the web interface often, but it leads to a confusion when it is. Can we just remove the option?
Thanks.
Attached a screenshot to show where the confusion occurs.
There is no direct methods. I could see two feasible options like
1. You can use some pre-login messages
2. Change/Modify the XHTML and CSS files on the server
The latter one is not official and also you will loose all the settings after the next update/uprgade of View
No. Even if they install, they will not be able to check out or checkin desktops unless a Transfer Server repository is added. When you send an email to the users, you can ask them to download "View Client" only.
You can open View Portal in Internet Explorer to install or automatically start the View Client.
Thanks,

Why not just remove the local mode cab files from the downloads.war folder? Wouldn't that have the desired affect?

Can you put a pre login message on the View Connection server webpage? I'm afraid some users won't look at a warning. How else would so much malware get spread. "Are you sure you want to install Evil Backdoor Screensaver Pro Edition? YES!"
I tried renaming the localmode installers and the webpage throws up an apache error when you try and download the localmode client. If you hit the back button the install guide webpage tries to autodownload again and throws up an error again. I think it would be better for a user to get the local mode client.
I went ahead and put the win 7 patched view clients and I'll just let people get whatever client they get, but remind them in an email to not get the local mode client.
Thank you for your help everyone!
I have a colleague that said he could modify the noclient.jsp or whatever it is to remove the local mode client. I'm afraid it would be a lot of work with not a lot of pay off. Thanks again guys.
