We have successfully installed the Horizon Client on a few desktops and connected into our environment (testing on our LAN so not going through any external GW). However one windows PC always hangs as soon as you login. It logs in but stays on a black screen and everything freezes for a minute or 2 (e.g. mouse keyboard completely frozen) before eventually failing. All it displays is "disconnected with error 'The connection to the remote computer ended.'." which isn't very specific. Any ideas? I'll attach some of the log files with our domain info scrubbed. Thanks in advance
Hi,
Were you able to fix it by any chance. We are also running into similar issue. We are facing this issue on Lenovo laptops.
Even HTML access doesnt work when the issue occurs. We have tried with Horizon agent 2111, 2203, 2206 and client version 2206 and 2203.
Antivirus: Crowdstrike.
Connected VIA VPN.
The client get stuck on loading VDI and then after few seconds shows a black screen and disconnects.
One thing we observed is that when the VDI is on the black screen, if you click on CTRL+ALT+Delete tab on the client, the connection goes through and the login is successful. Let me know if are also observing a similar behavior.
I hadn't tried that but I will. One thing I have noticed is that if we set the connection method to RDP it works fine. Both PCoIP and Blast experience the black screen issue. Confirmed that we don't have any endpoint firewall enabled so not sure what it doesn't like about those connection methods.
Were you able to find a fix for the issue.
Was anyone able to nail down the cause of this? We're experiencing the same issue on a hand full of machines and it's driving me insane!
Thanks
Hi, @CPludie @fishizza2 @richiefez .
If you have anti-virus software installed on the deployed virtual machine, be sure to run KB 2082045.
If you still experience problems, please attach the Horizon Agent PCoIP logs and the Horizon Client PCoIP logs.
Also, if you are experiencing black screen,
SVGA driver may be installed.
For Horizon 2111 and later, it is recommended to use the VMware Indirect Display Driver (IDD).
By disabling SVGA from Device Manager, Horizon Agent will use IDD.
@yukiafroniaThank you for the reply!
I don't think the antivirus exceptions are an issue as there are only a handful of users that experience this, I'll estimate 50-75 users have no issue. I will forward on to my Infosec team to confirm.
I do have both the IDD and SVGA installed. Originally only had the IDD but control in vSphere for management is as is there's no display driver at all, very laggy and low resolution. We are running Horizon 2111 currently.
I can't get the Agent PCoIP logs as the session never actually connects, the user will see our disclaimer logon message but that's where the Horizon Client locks up everything until it eventually times out.
I've attached the PCoIP client logs from an affected laptop as well as a few others that I reviewed that show errors/failures.
Here's a few screen shots from some of the other logs...
