The view connection server is preparing the desktop...

Has anyone ran across an issue with View 5 desktops where the user gets a screen stuck at "The view connection server is preparing the desktop." when their VM is resuming from a suspended power state?  We have also noticed the occasional "Cannot complete operation because VMware Tools is not running in this virtual machine." error in the vSphere console.  All indications are that VMtools is fine and we are running the latest version of tools.  We are also running ESXi 5.0.

Also this issue is random and difficult to re-create.

Hi,

I'm experiency a similar issue.

The flow is the follow:

1- I power off the desktop VM

2- I connect to the secure server with View Client

3- Authenticate to them and select the POOL

4- After I select the POOL View Client say "...preparing the desktop..."

5- The VM is powered on, the desktop became available in the POOL inventory

6- The View Client remain in the state of "preparing the desktop" but the client don't connect

7- If I pess Cancel and select again the POOL the VM is connected without problem

We are trying to understand if it's an issue in the managing this type of condition or problem derived from network stack.

Is there any solution on this problem? I have similar issue if the desktop is suspended or power off I can´t log on to the desktop. After some time it disconnect the connectionsserver.
