View 4.6 running on vCenter 5.0?

i'm going to be slowly upgrading to ESXi 5.0 and vCenter 5.0, however i'm running View 4.6.

my question is if i upgrade vCenter to 5.0 will that work with View 4.6 (i'm not running linked clones) and esxi 4.1 update 1

if that works can i then run view 4.6 on ESXi 5.0?

It runs but it's an unsupported configuration. For a POC or test environment it's okay...

Hello.

Its a no for both. You can use the VMware Product Interoperability Matrixes to verify this.

Good Luck!

While your mileage may vary with this, my imaginary colleague (other words me :smileyblush: ), upgraded the vCenter that I running my proof of concept VMware View labs before paying attention to the compatibility chart. So far, I have not run into any issues. I have not updated the vSphere hosts to 5 yet though.
