Best practices for SAN replication with SRM

We have a 20MB MPLS pipe between our HQ and DR sites. Is that enough for replication? What are the advantages\disadvantages of using a VPN tunnel for SAN replication across the internet?

Unfortunately, that's really dependent upon your storage replication technology, replication mode(s), data rate of change and RPO if asynchronous replication.  I've seen replication occur over a 10 MB line just fine though the technology used had really strong bandwidth compression capabilities.  What are you using?  Someone here might more to add based upon experience with your replication tool.

We have EMC RecoveryPoint replication in our environment, with a 250 MB. We have a total of 8 TB replicated data. The replication mode is asynchronous.
