how to speed up restarting

Hi all

after upgrading to vSphere 4 (and SRM 4) we've observerd an increase of the VM restarting speed(after a SRM failover)

in the previous version we've seen a restarting speed that seems implemented in this way:

1 VM per host at the same time (5 in my env)

now in the last failover we've seen 10 VM restarting at same time

somewhere seems changed in 2VM per host (in the cluster)

does anyone of you know if this parameter is a configurable one ? and where to change it Smiley Happy

our hosts are 24core and 64GB ram, we hope to have 3 VM starting per host, and this will decrease more the failover time

thanks

Roberto

Hi,

High priority VMs are always started one-by-one

Regarding the No-Power on / Low / Normal priority VMs: SRM poweres on 2 VMs per host up to 20 VMs concurrently (another VMware pdf says 18).

This is not configurable.

Michael.
