change compatibility mode of a mapped raw LUN

Hi gents,

can I change the compatibility mode of a mapped raw LUN from Physical to Virtual without losing data on that LUN ?

I assume the VM must be powered off ?

Yes you ca change back and forth and it will not make a difference. If I am not mistaken then yes the VM will need to be powered off to make the change

I have the same whish, of changing a physical RDM to virtual RDM compatibility mode.

But the option to change it, is grayed out and the vm is in shutdown mode.

How come?
