I know, this sounds like a SAN zoning issue, but hear me out. I recently got our 2nd fiber switch setup. We have a CX700 with 2 SP's. 4 ports for each SP. I have 2 ports from each SP going to one switch and, of course the other 2 ports from each SP going to the 2nd switch.
HBA1 on my 2 - M905's see all 4 paths (from 1st switch), but HBA2 on both servers only sees one path out of 4 (2nd switch). I also have a PE2950 that is showing the exact same issue. I have about 10 other physical servers with SAN storage that have no problem seeing all 4 paths from the 2nd swtich, so I know everything is zoned properly. What is interesting is that the one path that all ESX servers see is the same, SPB3.
I have removed the zoning for HBA2 and re-configured it, but still the same issue.
Could this be an issue with VMware? I am opening a ticket with EMC, but thought I would try here, aslo.
what do you see under connectivity status in Navisphere? Are all of the ports logged into the CX? Also is Array CommPath enabled?

Under connectivity status are all connected and logged in initiators except the remaining 3 paths that are zoned on the switch. Also,
Array Commpath is enabled.

brocade switches? I am guessing that you have already verified that the ports are logged in on the switch side as well (switchshow on a brocade). Have you looked at port speeds? Just a thought but if the speeds arent auto and they dont match the SP it wont let the ports log in.

Yes, Brocade switches. Yes, the ports are logged in on the switch side. All 10 other physical servers I have that are utilizing the same switch and SP ports can see all paths.
I will double check the port speeds on the switch and the ESX HBA and let you know tomorrow.
