3Com 4200G link aggregation

Hello,

I´m using the ESX Server 3.5 update 2, and I´ve created the vswitch with 2 nic and ip hash.

I believe that is sufficient to work with link aggregation, from the ESX side.

The 3Com switch has the configuration to perform link aggregation with LACP, but when the configuration is enable on the switch, one of the connections is dropped ( there´s no link signal). I believe that is something with the 3Com Switch. Have you ever seen a problem like this? Has anyone configured the 3Com with link aggregation and esx?

I think you can probably get away with just NIC Teaming your physical NICs to a vSwitch, as that also provides you redudancy and do route by portID, I believe that's the best. I've read in previous posts that you might have some configurations you need to handle on the switch and it's less hassle and works better by just utilizing NIC teaming and you'll still be able to get multiple streams with up to 1gbps.
