Change SC Nic

Currently on one of our ESX 3.5 U2 hosts, I have a single SC port (vswif0) on vmnic0, which is an onboard nic. I want to switch it to one of the ports on an expansion card in the host. Can I just add a 2nd nic to thie SC under vSwitch properties>Network Adapters, then remove the 1st one? The IP will be the same.

That is correct - and as long as the second vmnic is on the same subnet it should work -
