Hi All,
I'm trying to assign a SAN vdisk size 2TB to ESX server3.5 U3 the vdisk got assigned and i could able to see the vdisk in the scsci luns. Then i'm trying to assign it to VM as RAW device mapping it assigned and got created RDM succesfully, now i want to foramt the disk on the vm but here i'm unable to initialize the disk with size 2TB on windows 2003 sp1 vm
So here formatting failing, assign drive letter failing? is that because of vdisk size 2TB.
Disk management is failling when i use RDM with 2TB size on a VM
Yes this coulg be in cause of the 2TB.
Try to install the SP2.
i will install sp2 and let you know the result
Thanks
I tried installed SP2 but it failed agian no luck
Have you tried to convert the disk to a GPT disk (in Windows guest)?
Andre
Try to delete the volume in you guest and after that reinitialize it once again.
I have no idea about convert the disk to a GPT? Can you please tell me how to do this conversion bit briefly.
Thanks
From disk management.
Right click on the disk (not on the free space).
The same place where you have initialized the disk.
Andre
I treid what you suggested but again failed. I'm attaching screen shots what i did plese go through once.
sorry i'm unable to upload the images
