I have an ESX server that shows disconnect in the VI Client (as well as its VM's) but I can connect to all the VMs (via RDP) and they seem to be working ok
This started from a time-out in configuring one of the VM's NIC cards....
The Reconnect Host process shows In Progress but never does anything and I am unable to cancel this.
How do I recover the ESX Host without rebooting the server which I am sure will resolve it.
thanks
T
If you're su'd you probably don't have your path set.
/sbin/service mgmt-vmware restart
go to the console of you esx host and restart the vmware-mgmt agent with the command service vmware-mgmt restart
Dup post..sorry
You mistyped the command, it's --> service vmware-mgmt restart
you can also try
service vmware-vpxa restart
one other thing... Try to restart your VCMS service. Once that is complete, try right clicking on the host and choose connect.
I am SU'd to root
If you're su'd you probably don't have your path set.
/sbin/service mgmt-vmware restart
You were correct.....my path was wrong
/sbin/service mgmt-vmware restart
Did the restart
thanks
glad to see you got it resolved.
