Datastore seen as snapshot, resignatured, now bunch of VMs now inaccessible

I moved my "SAN" (it's pretty ghetto) from one OS to another, and when it came back up, ESXi saw it as a "snapshot" of the old datastore and told me to resignature it.

So... I did, and now I have a datastore which contains all the VM files for a bunch of VMs that are still pointing at another, defunct datastore.

Is there any way to recover from this? Or did I already commit myself to manually re-registering 40 VMs when I resignatured it?

You're going to have to remove the from inventory and add them, again.
