We have a few cloud accounts where 'Synchronizing images' is just spinning for a very long time. Is there a way to cancel the current sync images?
You can try deleting provisioning service pod , if that helps
kubectl delete pod -n prelude provisioning-service-pod-name
It is one of the unexpected thing which happens

Thank you @Ankush11s. Did that and also on the vCenter side had the team end any open sessions for the account used to connect the Cloud Account. Between those two actions the sync finally stopped.
Good to hear that , Please mark this thread as resolved if issue is resolved ,It helps to keep track of unanswered post
