I setup the vCO appliance, but the problem was that the built-in plug-in on the appliance was for vCenter Server 5.0.
Though the plug-in says vCenter Server 5.0 I was hoping that I can use the vCenter Server 4.1 on the given plug-in.
Can anyone confirm if it is possible to use the vCenter Server 4.1.
Thanks.
Hi,
I was able to setup the appliance and use it with our vCenter 4.1 installations. So yes, it worked for me.
Cheers,
Dave
It may work as long as you are not using any specific vCenter 5 features.
Christophe.
Is there a specific configuration to make it work ? I have an "Error in plug-in"
What is your plugin configuration ? (SSL ? port 80 ? port 443 ? ...)
Thanks for help :smileyconfused:
Does it say which plugin is hacing the error?
Is this on a default install? Or have you had it working and then added a new plug-in and it stopped?
Thanks for the replies.
I configured the appliance with the vCenter 4.1. But when I am testing some workflows I wasn't be able to make it work, like delete snapshots or create VMs.
This workflows work on vCO 4.1.
I can't really tell that it is compatible with vCenter 4.1 since I got this error.
Any suggestions about this?
OK, I came up with this site.
http://partnerweb.vmware.com/comp_guide2/sim/interop_matrix.php
It shows the compatibility of VMware products and solutions.
Though some OOB workflows might work but it is not completely compatible with vCenter 4.1 according to the matrix.
You can refer to the attached screenshot I made.
Thanks for the replies but this was the answer I was looking for. Hope it will be helpful to others.
