Problem installing Fusion

I just bought Fusion 1.1 after running the beta for a few weeks. The

beta trial ran out before I got the full version, and I unistalled the

beta (using the official uninstaller) from the machine prior to running the 1.1 installer. Now for some

reason the installer chokes part way with a message "Can't install the

application on this Mac". Anybody know what is going on? Is having an

expired beta at one point in time somehow confusing the installer?

BTW, I was able to install Fusion 1.1 on another system disk, so I know there is nothing wrong with the dmg file.

Anything in /var/log/install.log? Dumb fix that sometimes works: reboot the Mac?

Rebooting did not help. I'll check the log file when I get home. Can you tell me what I should look for in it, how to modify it so that the new installation goes through?

It's a log file (output), not something you can modify to get things to work (input). If nothing jumps out at you after reading it, post it here.

After reading the install.log if nothing comes to mind, try deleting any of these remnants and try again:
