Reverting back to 8.1.1

I upgraded to 8.5.0 and am experiencing constant crashes when running a Win 7 VM in Unity mode. I've been waiting a few weeks now for a fix and there has been nothing, can't even find where it is recognized as an issue - except by users. Using Fusion without Unity is almost useless for me. Fusion does not crash in single window mode but constantly crashes in Unity mode.

Can I just uninstall 8.5 and then install 8.1.1 and expect my VM to be there and work correctly?

Thanks,

David

You'll need to uninstall VMWare Tools, shut the VM down, then downgrade the virtual hardware.  Drag 8.5 to the trash, empty trash and reboot host.  Empty trash again, then install 8.1.1, then boot and reinstall the 8.1.1 VMware tools.

Thanks, that worked and I am able to work in Unity mode again! :smileylaugh:

I may never update Fusion again as that caused quite a loss of productivity for me. I still can't believe that VMWare would release an upgrade with such a major bug.
