Version 1.1 (62573) - no sound on Mac Pro

I just upgraded to Version 1.1 (62573), and instead of only having sound through the internal speaker, I have no sound whatsoever on any of my VMs! I uninstalled and installed VMWare, and upgraded the tools. I tried line out as well as my FireWave. All there is is silence...

Guess, I plug back in my USB sound device and give it to my VM...

But this is not a satisfactory solution...

I got same problem after upgrade fusion to Version 1.1 (62573).

I run fusion with OSX 10.4.9 on MacPro.

I tried to downgrade fusion to 1.1rc. then sound out works fine.

But it says "This version will be expired. Upgrade to newer"...

I'm not a english speaker, Sorry for if my english is bad.

Similar symptoms for me. With 1.1 I have no sound in either my Vista VM or

my Fedora VM, but sound does work directly in Boot Camp (Vista). When I

downgrade to 1.0 I have sound working again in both VMs. I did not need

to downgrade the VMware Tools portion to get sound back, just the main

app. This is all under Tiger -- I have not upgraded to Leopard yet.

In my own case, running the iWow uninstaller from the SRSWoW disk image removed the plugin, but for some reason one small part remained in use. On rebooting the Mac, I was able to delete trash, removing the last traces of iWow.

Full success! Removing SRSWoW eliminated the "No Sound" problem for me.

Hopefully this will fix most of the other issues people are having with no sound in Leopard on Windows XP.

Just for the record:

Upgrading to the newest iWow fixed this issue for me.

Good Luck!

I check a dirctory 'Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/HAL'

and try to remove 'Digidesign CoreAudio.plugin' from there.

Then, Sound works on Fusion1.1!

However, I can't use Digidesign Hardware via CoreAudio...

Try to check that directory and try to remove 3rd Party Audio plugin.

Hi Nusch,

What version of Digidesign CoreAudio do you have installed?

I used v1.2 which was installed with Protools LE 7.1.1cs2.

Fusion 1.0 and 1.1rc1 worked normally with this plugin. 1.1 does not.

What was changed in Sound output of Fusion 1.1?

Digidesign released Coreaudio plugin v1.4.

I don't try it yet. Because v1.4 is only for using without Protools Software.
