I have a customer having this issue. I found a thread at Microsoft web site:
The possible solution would be adding the following line to the .vmx file to tell VMware to emulate an Intel adapter.
ethernet0.virtualDev = "e1000"
http://communities.vmware.com/thread/69483
But in customer's file he cannot find this configuration at all. The closest line is: ethernet0.vnet = "VMnet1"
Any suggestions?
Thanks very much!
Leon

This is the network that the virtual machine is attached to, not the device. As far as I remember, VMnet1 = Host Only networking ..... which I don't think would be right if you want to PXE boot to anywhere but the host.
You can still add the line to dictate the network adapter. If the line is absent it will assume a specific adapter type based on the Operating System chosen.

Hi EvilOne and Tobias Kracht,
Thank you both. I think the information you gave me is very helpful. I will try that with my customer.
BTW this is the first time I use VMWare Community. Feeling good. . Is there any option I can configure so when somebody replies to my question I will receive an email notification?
Thanks,
Leon
Yes. I got too many emails. So I missed it.
