Hello guys,
I would like to ask if anybody got this game working on VMware 8.0.1 , because I cant get it running correctly on OSes Vista/Win7/Win8 .
Thing is fps are nice its like 200-400fps on low settings which is obviously more than enough but problem comes with UI delay , everything on game overview , market , wallet , locking targets and so on is hardly delay like 2-10seconds which makes game absolutly unplayable .
This occures when I set more than 1 core to guest system. When I set guest 1 cpu and 1 core , its working for a while (5mins up to 3-4 Hours) but always after some time UI problems starts again and I have to restart game , but restarting game for example 3-5 times in hour doesnt sound like a good solution to me
If anybody got solution for this , it would be great.
ps : Win XP is working but there is problem with game performance -> its rly bad 10 - 40 fps
Thank you in advance for help/info .
Flisk, I'm in the same boat as you are running VMWare 8 (with latest updates). The problem occurs randomly and doesn't seem to be tied to any load on the system. And like you, the problem can start 5 minutes in or 4+ hours in.
Exactly and sad thing is that I still did'nt find way to make it work : ( It has to be VMware problem or hardware problem , whats ur rig pls ? My rig is 2600k , 12GB RAM, GTX470 and I am running VMware on extra Velociraptor 150GB .
I can try AMD 6950 tomorrow but I dont think its problem with graphics card .
Mine is a 2500k, 16gb RAM, GTX 560. I don't think it is the video card either. I am running two clients in the same VM, and one client will exhibit this behaviour while the other doesn't. And for those that will ask, yes I do get the same issue even when running one client.
I also found that, when I set VMware to 1cpu 1core it takes some random time to start bugging - like u said few mins to few hours , but when I set it to 1cpu 2-4-8cores it stars imediatelly or very fast. And nothing , rly nothing helps. I spent maybe whole week or more trying different operating systems different VMware setups just everything that came to my mind and without success, so I guess it has to be hardware thing ... maybe VMware don't like Sandy Bridge processors or nVidia cards and if thats not it, than I rly dont know
If u ever find any solution please let me now :- )
ps: I hope I did'nt make too many gramatical errors up there
I have been reading other forums and the fix seems to be to downgrade to VMWare Workstation 7. I'll give that a try tonight.
Well, yea that works but VMware 8 has like 3-4times better performance than 7.1.4 . Btw what Revision/Stepping of 2500k do u have ? I have 2600k D1 - Engineering Sample , maybe D2's are fine. I will get one tomorrow so I will test it out.
I have no idea. I bought it two months ago though.
Ah than u should have retail D2 so I guess this won't be problem. Btw VMware 8.0.2 is out , I am just testing it and it works so far (2 hours+-) .
Perfect. I'll give that a try before downgrading
Sure Please let me know how it went
8.0.2 didn't help. My client immediately started exhibiting the bad behaviour. I will try 7 now...
I am working in 7,some problems are still there but better than 8
I am also getting beter performance in VMware 7 rather than VMware 8
Regards,
Milton
Oh my god ... 8.0.2 also isn't working for me even on D2 2600k . I just don't get it , is it so big deal to fix this ? I am going back to 7.1.4 but its seriously 3 times slower
Yah, 7.1.4 was horribly slow overall. Practically unusable for two clients inside the VM. I said screw it and am running Eve on my host. Maybe I will drive the Windows 8 Community Preview with Hyper-V when that comes out.
Bump, any news ?
Bump, still nothing ? Nobody can't fix this ?
Bump, still nothing ?
Bump, btw it don't have to be 8.0.1 , any VMware 8 working would be great : (
