Problem installing 6.5 on Ubuntu 10.04 64bit

When I tried to install Workstation, it just hangs at the point where it's "Configuring" VMWare Player. VMWare Player appears to have been installed, but not Workstation. However, attempting to run Player results in some failed attempts at installing drivers.

I've tried both 6.5.4 and 6.5.3 with no luck. Will version 7 work on Ubuntu 10.04 64bit?

Ok so I read that Workstation 6.5 is not supported for Ubuntu 10.04, and 7.1 is only supported on 9.10.

When can I expect 7.1 to be supported on 10.04? Until then I'm crippled and just tolerating Virtual Box.

7.1 has just been released. It supports 10.04 as a host.

Thanks for that, I must have found some old information. I'll request an upgrade and cross my fingers it works...
