Rookie installation question, how to install workstation onto Ubunto 10.04

Hi All,

Can someone please provide me with the right way to install VMWre Workstation onto Ubuntu 10.04LTS? I beleive that All i need to do is:

gksudo bash ./vmware.............. etc

Do i need to do anything before this step? I have the latest version 7, Thanks in advance!

Typically i would do all my updates and a reboot, in case of kernel changes.

Thanks, I have been seeing all over the internet to update the Kernal headers, Im a Linux rookie and not sure what that means or does. I guess I do not need to do that? Thanks

If you are using Gnome or KDE go to the system->administration->Update manager. Install all the updates that are relevant, I usually take them all. This should get the kernel headers as well.
