Second processor not present?

I am running Ubuntu 7.10 as the host and Windows Vista as a guest with VMWare Workstation 6.0. I realize that Ub 7.10 isn't technically supported but it is brand new hardware which isn't even compatible with the linux kernel that the previous version runs. The main problem I have is that I can select two processors for the VM, and my VM guest recognizes at least the name of the processor and advertised clock speed, but task manager only graphs utilization for one processor and it is frequently pegged with very little running. Anyone know of a workaround?

If your Vista installation was performed with single virtual processor, now after changing to two, you need to upgrade HAL.

Thanks Peter! I wasn't able to upgrade the HAL using device manager, but after a little digging I renamed macpihall.dll to hal.dll and rebooted and got the second processor.
