Stange key issue with Windows XP (guest) on Linux (host).

I am using VMware Workstation (hence this forum) 6.5.1 build-126130 on Ubuntu 8.10. As my main OS, I am running Windows XP inside. While I have no major complaints (and yes, it is working smoothly), there is one odd odd issue.

My arrow keys and numpad keys does not correspond to their actual input.

For instance, pressing arrow key down, makes Windows thinks I click the Windows-key, right ctrl is page down and page down is "right click menu" key (dunno its actual name).

And there are more oddities like these. And it only began after using 6.5.1, is there a work around, or should I degrade?

Thanks.

I have the same issue. Since upgrade to 6.5 my INS,DEL, and arrows are all diffrent functions. Turning numlock on and off allows me to use my arrows and such in the number pad.

I found the answer here:

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/source/vmware-package/bug/289098

To sum up the solution:

Add xkeymap.nokeycodeMap = true to config file.

run this command:

echo 'xkeymap.nokeycodeMap = true' > ~/.vmware/config

Upgrading to 6.5.2 fixed the issue for me. So that's that for me.
