VMware tools fails on shared Windows 8 vm in Workstation 8.02

I have Workstation 8.02 running and have successfully created a Windows 8 vm. However I need this image to be remotely accessible so I used the Workstation 'Server' to share the virtual machine.

After using the Share option on my Windows 8 vm it no longer boots, just a blank blue screen. Unsharing the image, the vm works fine again.

I then created a new Windows 8 image from scratch this time as a shared machine. It all worked fine up until the point I installed Vmware tools. The screen went blank at the point of installing the video drivers.Went back and tried again with custom install of vmtools without the video drivers and finally got a successful Windows 8 shared image.

So to summarise vmware tools screws up on Windows 8 shared machines.

It also screws up on non-shared Windows 8 VMs sometimes, too.  Don't install the video driver.
