Welcome to the Community,

from what you write I understand you are trying to use the "windows.iso" file which is installed with VMware Workstation!? This ISO file only contains the VMware Tools which should be installed after installing the guest OS. To install a Windows guest OS you need a bootable Windows CD or image which has to be purchased separately from Microsoft.

Hi ryukai190.

Have you used a ISO of Windows operating system to create your VM?

No I did not. I used the .exe and i letted it install and do all the stuff itself but it never really opened ISO except when it you're creating a VM.

Workstation does NOT include any ready to use VMs.

You have to install the VMs yourself

Yes. In order to be able to install Windows on a virtual machine (it's actually the same as with a physical system) you need a valid license as well as an installation CD/DVD or ISO image.

Yes. In the creation VM wizard you can specify the ISO to install the guest operating system.
