Workstation 12 Player and Windows 10

hi,

i've got windows 10 64bit, on a laptop processor I7 and 6gb ram and i have created two virtual machines with Workstation 12 player

one is to use windows 7 and the other one is to use Lubuntu.

i have installed all VmWare Tools.

the problem is: the machine works too slow....

has anyone noticed the same thing and have the solution?

Thanx

Hi,

Not really enough information here, you're not even saying -which- machine works too slow.

However as a golden rule do not assign more as half your host's resources to the guest OS.

eg. if you have a quad core i7 then _never_ assign more as 2 cores, also from the 6GB of RAM that you have do not assign more as 3GB RAM.

That's all assuming you only try to run 1 Virtual Machine at a time, if you want to run both VMs simultaneously you might even have to be a bit more frugal, although it might work ok with the above suggestion.

Experimenting is the way to find out.

If it still is too slow, your hosts disk might be too slow, you can try moving the VM to an external USB disk (not a usb stick as those are slow by definition) preferably an SSD.
