"This is a Workstation ACE Edition virtual machine. Please open it in VMware Player."

I accidentally enabled ACE for a machine when I had the beta installed, but I removed the feature through one of the dialogs before going back to version 6.0.3.

What do I do to fix this?

I talked to the dev in charge of this feature and here's a list of the things you should do:

• Remove from your vmx file the "policy.vm.mvmtid" and "policy.vm.managedvm" lines.

• Remove the following files:

1) ace.dat

2) aceMaster.dat

3) host.vmpl

4) .vmpl

5) The "ACE Resources" directory

6) The "Preview Deployment" directory if it exists.

Hi, I have the same error after upgrading to Workstation 7, then realizing that I needed to pay for the license to do so, tried reverting back to 6 and one of my images is giving this error. I tried these steps and it did not work for me.
