will usb disconnect during hot add and hot plug?

Dear all

Hi

I read this about cpu hot plug :

adding cpu resource to a machine that is running and hot plug has been enabled on that disconnect and resconnect all of usb passthrough devices that are connected to that vm

is that means if i have connected a USB disk to my esxi server during increase cpu with hot plug my usb for a momment will be disconnect ?

do you have any document from vmware saying such a thing.

I dont think the hot plug of CPU should disconnect and reconnect USB devices to the VMs.

Hi Baber,

thank you for sharing the doc.. I stand corrected..

If the doc says so.. but I suspect it will be a momentary disconnection.. I dont think you will have to do anything in that case.

I am not aware of the impact it has on the Applications/Services dependent on the USB from the guest OS perspective
