Moving a VM from One Datastore to another is consuming all the disk space on the new 6TB drive

Hi All

Can someone help me solve a current issue with my set up. I run a single VM on esxi 6.5. Just before the upgrade, the single VM filled up a 1.8TB drive and shut down. Decided to move the the VM from the 1.8TB datastore to a 6TB one. The trouble is, the move has been running for nearly a week now and only 60% is complete with 3.8TB storage used already. I cannot view files on both datastores. I have attched some photos of what I am current seeing. Please help if you have understood my issue

How are you moving the files (from ESXi command line or from the datastore browser)? Is there an increment in the percentage of completion or has been sitting at 60 percent?

Cheers,

Please run ls -lisa in both datastore folders (source, and target), and post the results.

It seems as if the VM's virtual disk has been thin provisioned, and gets inflated with the move.
