VMware Storage Configuration for High Availability

I'm setting up a VMware vSphere environment and want to ensure high availability for my VMs. How should I configure storage to achieve this? Are there any specific RAID configurations or best practices I should follow?

Also, how can I take advantage of VMware features like vSAN or VMFS to improve storage performance and redundancy?

To achieve high availability in VMware vSphere:

  1. Use shared storage like vSAN or VMFS for data resilience and features like vMotion and HA.
  2. Implement RAID for redundancy to protect against disk failures.
  3. Configure Multipathing for better performance and automatic failover.
  4. Monitor storage performance regularly.
  5. Backup data and have a disaster recovery plan in place.

Following these steps ensures reliable and highly available storage for your virtualized environment.
