Believe this is the correct forum...
Issue:
Have installed Redhat Enterprise 5 as well as vmware tools. Since this is a server X Windows has not been installed, hence cannot launch vmware-toolbox.
I want to ensure that guest is sychronizing with the host. How can I access vmware-toolbox w/o X Windows being installed?
/Cheers
You can't.
But if you're talking about time synchronization, check the guests .vmx file. If there's a line ' tool.syncTime="TRUE" ' then time synchronization is enabled.

Hi,
another alternative is to use
vmware-guestd --cmd "vmx.set_option synctime 0 1"
on the Red Hat shell if you do not like to reboot the VM.
Have a look at this document if you expect time issues: http://www.vmware.com/pdf/vmware_timekeeping.pdf
