VMs (Windows Server 2012 R2) migrated of hyper-v to VMware

Hi guys,

I migrated 3 vms Win2012 R2 and they had SQL Server, the migration was make with veeam when finished the migration the servers lost to access to disks of Database and Backups only operation system level. I Can't to assigne the permissions again to the disks.

I tried several times with new backups to demand but I couldn't resolve this issue.

Note: I migrated other vms without SQL server and they were successful

Do you still see the disks in disk manager? Does Veeam see the disks when you do the backup?
You can always try VMware converter and see if that works better for you.

Yes I still see the disk in disk manager, the issue is only to access. Yes, Veeam sees all disks and restored.

I will try with WMware converter and I will return with the results.

Hi,

did you install your SQL using a domain account only and your migrated VM isn't joined properly to your AD?

As an alternative, if you still have a system with correct/working ACLs you could use subinacl to backup and restore ACLs.

Hope this helps a bit.

The problem was with VM itself or with VMware Converter?
