Are there restrictions on the folder/file names that can be synced with Horizon File? We seem to be having a issue if a folder has a period in it. Thanks
-Craig
This is a limitation of NTFS. File and Folder names cannot be created on the filesystem that end in a period. Most likely the folder was created on a Mac or on the web and the sync down to windows is failing. Removing the period at the end should allow the folder to sync.
HI Craig,
Horizon Files will not allow filenames that contain any of these characters: / \ : | " < > *?
A period should be fine, however.
Thanks.
Hi Craig,
Sometimes there are invisible characters that are invalid. These characters can be accidentally introduced in the names. A common situation is introducing the backspace character into a file name. The backspace character is CONTROL-H, Ctrl-H, ^H, or \010. Users accidentally introduce the Ctrl-H character into the file names when they use the backspace during a file naming operation and their terminal is incorrectly configured.
This Troubleshooting topic in the Administrator's Guide describes the potential causes for this situation and how to diagnose it:
Is the period at the end of the folder name?
Yes. I believe it was something like Doe John C.

This is/was the issue. Thanks.
