I'm confused about memory usage displayed in the VI client!?!

Hopefully this should be an easy answer but I'm a bit confused about the memory usage displayed on the 'Summary' tab in VI 2.5 client. Here is what is displayed:

'General'

CPU: 1 VCPU

Memory : 1272 mb

Memory Overhead: 109 mb

Resources:

CPU usage 112 MHz

Host memory usage: 1.12gb

Guest memory usage: 127mb

So.... Does my virtual machine require an additional 109mb or is only using 109bm of real memory from the host?

I'm confused!

My understanding is that this is the amount of additional memory required by the host for the vmkernel. There is a memory overhead for each virtual machine.
