VCenter 4 and license server

Dear all,

I have installed a new VCenter4 that will replace the current VC 2.5 .

The problem i have is that i still have some hosts version 3.02 and 3.5, i guess i need to have a license server as well for them.

The question is : how can i move the license server from the old vcenter to the new one ?

Will i have problems with my legacy hosts adding them to the new VCenter v4 ?

Many thanks in advance.

Daniele

Hello.

The migration of the license server is covered in the Upgrade Guide, and it is a fairly straightforward process. There have been issues reported with using the standalone license server on Windows 2008 (the downloadable one), so you might want to install the license server from the vCenter 2.5 U6 media if you are using Windows 2008.

Good Luck!
